Your First Dance
There’s nothing more romantic than learning to dance together, especially when your goal is to wow your guests with your first dance as husband and wife. At Mélange, you can take Private Lessons, Group Classes, or both. Our instructors will work with you to design a lesson package that will make your first dance unforgettable.
And why not get the whole bridal party dancing? It’s a lot of fun and a great way to ease the stress of wedding planning.
Dances to consider for your special day:
- Bride and Groom’s First dance
- Father and Bride
- Mother and Groom
- Wedding Party Class
How many classes should we take?
This will be discussed between you and your instructor and will depend on how much time you have, your dance experience and the type of dance you’d like to learn. Be sure to bring your special song to your lessons, or if you’d like, your instructor can help you choose a song and dance that’s right for you.
Rehearsal dinner and reception lesson options
As an added bonus for your wedding guests, you may want to have a dance lesson at your reception or rehearsal dinner. Some couples use a dance lesson to fill time at the reception while they are having photographs taken.

Wedding Dance Tips
- Plan ahead! The sooner you start lessons, the more fun you’ll have. Plus, dancing is an activity you’ll enjoy together for many years after your wedding.
- Choose a song for your first dance that’s meaningful to you as a couple, and that’s easy to dance to.
- Relax and remember that dancing is a stress-reliever – this should be a time to let go of the planning and hold on to your memories.
